The aim of the program:
In the process of studying prepare a qualified specialist in the field of metal working, who is able to work at enterprises of Metal Working, Machine-Building as well as at other enterprises of national economy, whose activity is connected with metal handling, mending and manufacturing of components, devices and constructions of medium complexity, by using skills of both welder and metalworker.
Specific aims of the program:
In the process of the studies give the opportunity to aquire the following knowledge and skills:
· perform principal work of the metalworker in accordance with developed technological process, follow technical rules and regulations of industrial safety;
· to choose, prepare and implement the necessary tools for control and measurment;
· to choose, prepare and implement manual, mechanized and electronical tools, machines and auxiliary devices;
· to perform installment, testing, adjustment and maintenance of tools and machines;
· to perform control of the product;
· to prepare equipment, apparatus and devices for welding;
· adjust operating modes for welding;
· to choose the appropriate mark of electrodes for welding of different kinds of materials;
· to work with different kinds of welding (MMA) equipment (with direct and alternate current);
· to get principal skills for working at MAG welding equipment;
· to weld constructions of sheets and tubes in lower and vertical positions;
· to be able to visually find defects of welding joints, evaluate and clear them;
· to be able to distinguish between metal groups and their fusions (black, coloured);
· to recognize the mark of metal by the certificate and evaluate its possibility to be welded;
· to know and apply liquids for lubrication and cooling; lubricants and chemicals used in metal working and machine-building;
· to read drafts;
· to make work scetches of simple components and welding constructions;
· to follow regulations of industrial safety, electrical safety, fire safety and environmental control at the place of work.
Assessment of quality of program’s mastering:
Students, who have met the requirements of educational plan, have got necessary knowledge and marks on all subjects, have passed examinations and have done practical work, have the right to enter exams for getting a professional qualification.
Students, who have aquired the vocational educational program in metal working, should pass two professional qualification exams:
In order to get the professional qualification of METAL WORKER, testing of quality of theoretical knowledge and testing of fulfillment of practical work are orginized within the boundaries of the qualification exam.
In order to get the professional qualification of HAND WELDER (MMA) testing of quality of theoretical knowledge and testing of fulfillment of practical work are orginized within the boundaries of the qualification exam.
As educational plan, foreseen for aquiring of the profession of welder, on three fourths is similar to the educational plan for aquiring of related profession of welder in welding with mechanized equipment in active gas environment (MAG), students are offered an opportunity to enter the qualification exam for getting the professional qualification of the welder in welding with mechanized equipment in active gas environment (MAG). During the practical test work students with MAG welding skills weld a piece, identical to that one, which is welded in MMA testing work. In order to test quality of theoretical knowledge, such a test is orginized, where in addition to questions for testing general technical knowledge, questions related to MMA and MAG welding technology are included in a certain proportion.
Students, who have got a sufficient mark of 5 (satisfactory) and higher in all professional qualification exams, are awarded with these professional qualifications by a decision of the examining board of professional qualification exam.
Students, who have got a sufficient and higher mark only for a certain profession, are awarded only with this professional qualification by a decision of the examining board of professional qualification exam.
Expenses for parts of qualification exams, which are related to aquiring of professional qualification of welder in welding with mechanized equipment in active gas environment, are covered from the financial sourses of the student or natural or legal person, who supports his/her.
Awarding of professional qualification is verified by the certificate of professional qualification, issued to the student.
Future opportunities for education:
Persons, who have aquired these professional educational programs, have the right to continue education in professional educational programs of higher level, programs of futher education or professional advanced training programs.
